Baptism not only purifies from all sins, but also makes the neophyte “a new creature,” an adopted son of God, who has become a “partaker of the divine nature,” member of Christ and coheir with him, and a temple of the Holy Spirit – CCC 1256
Baptisms take place on the Third Sunday of the month at 9:00 AM (after the Spanish Mass) or 11:00 AM (after the English Mass)
These are the requirements for baptism:
- Copy of child’s birth certificate
- Suggested offering: $30
- Letter of certificate of baptismal class for parent and godparents.
Parents and godparents need to take a baptismal class before the date of baptism. Class dates may vary so please call the office to confirm the date and to sign up.
These are the conditions to be a godparent:
- practicing Catholics
- over 18 years old
- single or married in the church
One godparent is enough. If there are two godparents, they must be male and female.
Though a non-Catholic Christian cannot be godparent, they can be a witness (provided there is also a Catholic godparent).
Please email or call us to register the baptism and confirm the baptismal date.
